Wireless Gamer

The console wars continue as Sony announces that the PS4 will prospectively be released in late 2012. This date will fluctuate based off of PS3 sales. If PS3 continues to lose the console war against Xbox 360 and Wii then the date will be moved up so that they can be the first to release this time.

There is speculation regarding what it will look like and what features it will have. Motion control will now be built in and the rumor is that the controller for the system will be more like the Kinect. They will more than likely stick with the Blu-ray discs as the technology is sound and holds more than most games can fit anyway. More than likely Sony will be sticking with the Cell processors that they spent 3 billion to develop, but of course stronger and able to work at faster speeds than the current 3.2 GHz. One feature that this will allow is backwards compatibility with PS3 games, something that would please fans tremendously.

There is still much conjecture surrounding the design and release of the PS4, but one thing fans are sure of? You can expect an outrageous price tag on this new system again.
